An Introduction to the Angry Birds and Their Abilities
It all started in 2009, when the Finnish gaming company Rovio Mobile, was trying to come up with a new game idea. The company was presented with several concepts, but from all of them, only some cute bird characters really stood out. It was Senior Game Designer’s (Jaakko Iisalo) idea, and with help from graphic artists Tuomas Erikoinen, Joonas Mäkilä and Miisa Lopperi the birds were born.
These are the birds. They’re angry because the green pigs stole their precious eggs. You need to help them get revenge by slinging them at the giggling pigs. There are several types of angry birds, and they’re all here to help by using their special ability. Here they are:
The Red Bird
The red bird is available from the beginning of the game. It doesn’t have any special ability, but it is powerful enough to help you pass the first levels. The red bird is also the image of Rovio, and you can actually see it on the application icon.

The Blue Bird
You will unlock the blue bird in World 1, Level 10. Also known as the Scattershot bird, this bird will split into three if you tap the screen of your device while it’s flying.
You can use the blue bird to attack multiple targets – if you fire it early, or just one target – if you fire it close to your target, in which case, it will cause more damage.

The Yellow Bird
This is the third bird and becomes available in World 1, Level 16. Its special ability is to accelerate, thus hitting the target with more power. The yellow bird, or the Kamikaze bird, doesn’t do too much damage on glass or stone, but it is very effective on the wood blocks.

The Black Bird
Unlocked in World 2, Level 5, the black bird can help you destroy those hard stone blocks. You can detonate the black bomb bird by tapping the screen, but it is best to let it explode by itself; this way, it will break more stone blocks. All you have to do is set a target, sling the black bird, let it land and wait a couple of seconds for it to explode.

The White Bird
This maternal bird becomes available in World 2, Level 14. The white bird’s special power is dropping explosive eggs from its backside, after which it deflates and flies away. For maximum damage, is best to launch the eggs as close to the target as you can. If you prefer not to use the white bird’s ability, you can always use it as a projectile bird.

The Green Bird
Better known as the Boomerang bird, the green bird is unlocked in World 6, Level 5. It works just like a boomerang: you launch it, and when you tap the screen, it will turn around hitting whatever is in its way. This bird is one of the hardest to master, but with enough practice and patience, you can learn its trajectory, and use it as a powerful missile against the pigs.

The Big Red Bird
You can unlock the red bird’s Big Brother in World 9, Level 1. Just like its brother, the big red bird is a basic projectile bird, except this one can break glass, wood and stone fairly easy. This bird is huge, so you probably won’t be able to squeeze it into tight places, but you can aim it at the structures’ foundations to decimate them.

The Mighty Eagle
This bird is not part of the Angry Birds’ regular cast; you can purchase it as an in-app helper, for $0.99. The Mighty Eagle is a one-time purchase, and can be used once per hour to destroy everything in its path. The eagle can help you pass a tough level, so if you don’t have patience to try to pass the level by yourself, the Mighty Eagle can come in handy.
